Indigo renderer v4.0.44

Following the same procedure as 'Render 1', I made sure that all my fundamental layers were setup i.e 'Line drawing', 'Base renders' etc

This time however I experimented by using two types of real-time renders within the 'indigo renderer' program.

1. One render featuring a translucent skin for the veil

2. One render featuring an opaque skin for the veil

I attempted this procedure to try and bring forth the materiality of the translucent membrane skin layer that veils around the geodesic sctructure.

I first attempted to add some real-life grass textures to the existing render.

The grass texture was a .png file that I downloaded from an architectural visual rendering forum. After tenuously patching the texture around all the green areas that represented grass, I then cropped out all the unwanted edges using the magic wand tool.

Next I then applied dirt textures to the pathways.

By this point I began to start overlaying my exported 'Shadows' layer to start adding depth to the composition.

I now started adding textures to the steel/iron elements within my render. Similar to how I did before in 'Render 1'. I wanted to show a little bit of weathering on some of the metallic textures applied.

I repeated the same process that I did in 'Render 1', when producing a steam effect.

For the translucent membrane skin texture, I wanted to simulate an algae-like material. So I searched for various algae textures on Google and overlayed them faintly within the cropping boundary that I had set.

...Once again it's important to include a few bird silhouettes.

Besides birds, I also thought that it would be necessary to add other flying insects into the composition.

I downloaded from Google a few standard insect photos, and then re-illustrated them with a

cell-shaded effect to match the render's aesthetic.

As the final edit to add ambience to the render, I applied a mist .png file to act as a visual filter. I wanted this effect to make the botanical rainforest scenary more immersive within the render's composition.
